‘Soundbytes from the Protests’ is a one-minute audio piece composed of field recordings taken during the August 4, 2021 protests in Beirut, held on the one-year anniversary of the port explosion.

Though brief, the work captures the charged atmosphere of the moment—snippets of chants, background noise, and silences that speak volumes. Subtitled in both Arabic and English, the piece reflects on the relationship between sound, language, and text in moments of crisis.

Originally exhibited at P21 Gallery in London (2021), it stands as a condensed archive of resistance, remembrance, and the power of collective voice.
